Hosting and delivery
The website is delivered through Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront), provided by Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. When you open a page, AWS processes technically necessary data (IP address, time, requested address, browser information) to deliver the page and protect it against attacks. We do not keep access logs.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the website securely and quickly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with AWS. Transfers to the US cannot be ruled out; they are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Amazon is certified, or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Web analytics with Google Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). It tells us how people find ScanToKeep (e.g. through a search engine, social networks or a link) and which articles they read. Google Analytics sets cookies for this and records in particular the pages viewed, where the visit came from (referring website, campaign details in the address), clicks on links to other websites, approximate location (country, region, city), device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language, and the time and length of the visit. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We only see the data in aggregated form.
Google processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Transfers to Google LLC in the US cannot be ruled out; they are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified, and on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG
Retention: the cookies are deleted after 2 years at the latest; Google keeps the analytics data for 14 months.
Withdrawal: at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page; the analytics cookies are then deleted.
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Without your consent Google Analytics is not loaded and no cookies are set. We store your choice only in your browser's local storage.
Links to other providers
Our articles link to sources (e.g. legal texts) and to the PDFDocify app on Google Play. Only when you click such a link do you leave our website; the other provider's privacy policy then applies.
Contact by email
If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed and no legal retention obligation applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Contact us at info[at]slicklab.de. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, e.g. the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
